Richard Martin
Richard Martin is an editorial director and digital media strategist who has overseen the operations, launch and growth of successful digital and print brands including Condé Nast’s La Cucina Italiana, Food Republic, Complex Media and Modern Luxury Media’s Manhattan and Miami magazines. In 2023, he launched Appetitomagazine.com, a media start-up devoted to Italian food, drink and travel.
He is co-author of the 6-part series of cookbooks from Hardie Grant, Preserved; Vols. 1 & 2, Condiments and Fruit, were published in October 2023, and Vols. 3 & 4, Drinks and Vegetables, will be published October 6, 2024. He co-created the acclaimed Audible audio documentary series Seat at the Table with chefs Marcus Samuelsson and Jonathan Waxman, which premiered in November 2022.
Previously, he held roles as Managing Editor of ILOVENY.com; Vice President of Editorial for Zero Point Zero Production in Manhattan, working on projects for the Emmy Award-wining company including agency-type creative for brands including MasterCard, Quaker and Unilever; and editor-in-chief of the publications Complex, Miami and Manhattan.
Richard’s consulting and strategy work extends from digital media and marketing to economic development and real estate. As managing editor of ILOVENY.com, he worked on tourism and marketing projects for Empire State Development Corp. He has also consulted for real estate developers in NYC and Charlotte, as well as the business recruitment team at the City of Charlotte.
Richard lives in Brooklyn with his wife and children.
